Prototype Development Engineer (SF2019ME001)

JOB DUTIES: Design, develop, and fabricate prototypes using engineering principles. Evaluate technical specifications and requirements for prototypes. Design and analyze mechanical systems using CAD and FEA software. Perform structural analysis and heat transfer modeling for prototype design. Perform digital fabrication using CAM software, and manual fabrication using a variety of shop tools. Analyze prototype assemblies and testing. Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration. Domestic travel required (2% of time).

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and six months experience in the design and production of prototypes OR Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and five years’ experience in the design and production of prototypes. Experience must include six months with the following: CAD software; FEA software; AutoDesk Fusion 360; and CAM software. Must have the ability to use and operate a variety of shop tools, including saws, manual mill, and CNCs.
